Imagine... your photos will open my eyes
"A dream you dream alone is just a dream.
A dream you dream together becomes reality."
Yoko Ono
On 30 April 2002, young people in 45 countries set out with their cameras: In New York, Beijing, Kabul, in the mountains of Nepal, the rain forest of Costa Rica and the desert of North Africa. The photographers brought back 12,000 pictures: A colourful collection of how young people feel and what they fear, how they play, dance and laugh - simply - how they look at the world.
Imagine is a joint photography project with Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Yoko Ono.

"I'd like to show everyone what happens in the park in the morning."
"In this photo we can see two children going to school and the other two working in the same school. Some children have to go school and some have to just look on as others receive education without asking for the same right to everyone."
"Three of my friends hanging out after school in an underground tunnel on Main Street."
" The rice farmers secure our survival. I value their work greatly. It is hard and painful and, even so, they have a smile on their face."
"A friend of mine who fell down while playing football and found himself lying in a pool of water. That's what happens when the ground is wet and we slip and slide in the mud. But we never stop playing football. We never give up!"
